As of about an hour or so ago, I have started to back-up all of my digital movie projects to DVD. It's going to take allot of time, and hopefully I get it done by the end of August.

Here's what I plan to get done:

-Looks Like Rain, Episodes 1-17

-Absolutely Marvelous, Seasons 1-3

-All of the Lip Synch Videos (not sure whether I'll organise them by year, language, or whatever..)

My other project, "If I Could Be For Only an Hour" is across 12 VHS tapes, and will take 10 times as long as this will take me. There's no telling when that will be done. I also just realised I had all of my cassette tapes of "Kerry and Dan", which I havent listened to in years, that at some point or another, I wish to have put to CD.

Whether I will be distributing these online is something I will decide after I finish, but Its most likely, that is, if you REALLY intend on spending your money for a homemade DVD of these hot messes I call shows.

Important Announcement

Hello all -

After much consideration and thinking, I have decided that after 2009 is over, I will no longer be making lip synch videos. It's time for me to move on and pursue other projects, such as my real life, and look at other options. I will, however, still be putting my older video projects up for you all to enjoy. Since I've given myself till the end of 2009, you will be seeing quite a few things coming your way (ie, old videos never posted, etc). I will, afterwards, keep this website up, coming on every now and then to give you a heads up on whats going on.

I thank you all so much for watching over these past few years, and I hope that you will still be watching for many more years to come!

I was thinking of producing something allong the lines of a greatest hits show, or something. Since it would be impossible to tour with something like lipping these songs, I figured maybe I would post a poll or something so that you all can vote which songs you would like to see me reprise. I would also throw a few songs in there I haven't done yet, just for your enjoyment.

el Gran "Karino show"

Good afternoon, everyone.

Just as I started putting this blog together, I started wondering about all of the sites/blogs I knew of in the past that embedded my videos onto theirs. I came across a Spanish blog called "Yos y sus paranoias". Whenever I would go onto the site, linked from youtube, it would never actually show me where the video was, so instead of looking, I just didn't bother.

I happened to actually find one of my videos on a post (from almost 3 years ago), and I was

reall

y surprised at what I found. While I was making all of these videos to these old songs, I was slowly building quite a following in Spain. The blog host, known as "Yos" on Blogger, gave me the nickname "Karino show", because of my few interpretations of songs by Karina (who was, and still, from what I believe is very famous in Spain). I didn't find it flattering at first, but then as I actually read the posts (and trying to understand Spanish, which I hadnt studied in almost 2 years), I found that this was one of the people who weren't out to have a huge laugh when they watched. I emailed "Yos" and I said something like "I feel as if I'm a star now If I have my own picture with a caption, like this one --> on someone's website.

Apparently, from then on, quite a few of my videos were posted on there regularly. I remember reading one post where they said something like "He's doing a tv commercial [for something] next month.." and I thought "God, if only that were true." They even went as far as to create a mash up of "Ven A Bailar Conmigo"

with a video of a girl dancing..

Just when I thought I was going to stop making these videos, I found one of the many people who enjoy getting the notification that I've posted another one. Sure, I've changed, I can't exactly stay young forever (although some people wish I would). I don't hope to do this sort of thing professionally in any way, I just hope to keep it as a fun little hobby, that just happens to make some people happy, and rehash some really good memories from childhood.

I can't tell you how many email's I've gotten that say "My mom used to love this song! you brought me back to my childhood!" or "My father used to play this song all the time growing up.." Am I a little spaced by the fact that people who are my parents age are thanking me for reminding them of their childhood? No. Like I said before, It's just a hobby, and I just happen to love older music. People tend to ask allot how I come to know some of these songs, which were'nt released in America. Well, YouTube and the Eurovision Song Contest has done wonders. If I find something interesting, or a song that I like, I'll go further and look for more stuff by that particular artist or in that particular genre.

So, lets see what happens in this summer's chapter of the "Karino show"... I don't even know what's going to happen, but whatever comes my way, I'm going to just go with it, and see where I get to. Thank you, Yos.

Ladies and Gents -

I was informed a few weeks ago, that the site that hosts LLR is closing for business. :( Mer. This is a good and bad thing. The good thing is, as the world is becoming increasingly more social, and more instant, so will the layout of my site. Before, I would be able to leave my layouts going for months, and only have to update the site every now and again, just for new videos and anything worth mentioning. Now, this gives me more of a reason to post more than just the videos. I can pass on all of my news in a somewhat clean and organised fashion, along with my latest projects and of COURSE those oh-so-lovely videos. Now, the bad thing.. I'll have to find some way to archive the site the way it is now, and save everything I've worked so hard to put into it. Oh... now that I think of it, that's not all THAT bad... I don't know why I was thinking twice about switching to a blog..

Don't expect me to sign up for a Twitter account, but this will be my way of interacting with you all who have been visiting me for all of these years. So, auf-weidersehen, Platinum edition, and hello, streamlined social communication...with those nice videos...

All I ask of you is for your cooperation over the next few weeks while I get this new format up and running. Sit back tight, kids... It's gonna be quite a ride!
